EOBA will be welcoming speaker Brian Lacey of Blue Shoes Honey Ottawa - a honey producer, queen bee breeder, and meadmaker to discuss Spring Beekeeping. Understanding dead-outs, cleaning, preparing, spring feeding, IMP, and other Spring Beekeeping Procedures. 6:30pm Start -Speaker at 7pm.

Spring is almost here! Are you a new or seasoned beekeeper preparing for hive opening? Or perhaps you're a beginner wanting to expand your knowledge? Join the EOBA for our first in-person meeting of 2025!


  • Topic: Understanding dead-outs, cleaning, spring feeding, IPM, and other Spring beekeeping activities.

  • Speaker: Brian Lacey of Blue Shoes Honey Ottawa is a honey producer, queen bee breeder, meadmaker and all-around bee nut who has worked with bees since his first year at university. You could say he really loves bees.

  • Time: Doors open at 6:30 PM for mingling with friends, with the event starting at 7:00 PM sharp and concluding around 8:30 PM
